Caitlin has spent the last two years in development working with some of the best producers in the UK to release two EPs. She is now back performing live with her new 4-piece band featuring Martha B (Keys/BVs), Henry Thompson (Bass), Rufus Miller (Guitar/MD) Will Kitcat (Drums) and touring the release of her debut album ‘Why’s Everybody So Serious’.
“To say Caitlin made a good impression would be an understatement, in the two months since the festival, she is still one of the most talked about artists. I definitely want to book her again and cannot wait to see how her career progresses”
Jonathan Scratchley, Gentleman’s Dub Club/ Curator – Good Vibrations Festival
Bio:
Rising star Caitlin is a force to be reckoned with. She’s that rare artist whose assured sense of self translates perfectly in her alluring, irresistible sound – one that brings together her jazz background with contemporary soul, rock and pop. With the double whammy of heart-on-sleeve lyricism and skilled songcraft, she is fast asserting herself as one of the leaders of Britain’s ongoing soul renaissance. Her debut album, Why’s Everybody So Serious?, will have the world convinced that she is the real deal.
Born Caitlin Van den Bogaerde, she proved to be a prodigious musician from a young age while growing up in the New Forest. She trained as a jazz vocalist, picking up the flute, guitar and piano along the way. By the age of 16, she was already performing to live audiences, later becoming a regular at some of the most renowned jazz clubs in London with the seven-piece group, Sol Collective. Early sessions have included Bruno Major (Lianne La Havas, MJ Cole), Steve Christanthou (Corinne Bailey Rae) and Jimmy Napes (Sam Smith).
Now with a close-knit team of trusted collaborators around her, she has created an extraordinary opening statement that demonstrates the jaw-dropping breadth of her talents.
