“Some of the best – and I mean best – musicians in the UK. Or anywhere come to that.” Paul Jones (The Blues Band, Manfred Mann)
With more than 40 years at the heart of the music industry, Sam Kelly is a drummer whose groove speaks volumes. His powerhouse band, Station House, has been lighting up stages across the UK and around the world for decades. Born out of London’s legendary Station Tavern in the early ’90s, Station House quickly built a reputation for bringing together exceptional musicians united by one mission: fusing instinctive funk and soul rhythms with the raw depth and diversity of the blues.
In 2020, Sam reignited the fire with a dynamic four-piece line-up: Sam Kelly (drums) Richard Sadler (bass) Tony Qunta (guitar/vocals) and Rowena Poole (lead vocals/guitar). This tight-knit formation continues to tear up venues and festivals across the UK and Europe, delivering shows packed with energy, groove, and pure musical joy.
SAM KELLY’S STATION HOUSE is no ordinary blues band. Their signature sound blends blues grit with New Orleans second-line swagger, soulful melodies, jazz sophistication, and unmistakable British funk. The result…a vibrant, electrifying live experience that gets audiences moving and keeps them there. They don’t just play the blues — they ignite it.
The band’s latest album “No Barricades” is bursting with original material, bold arrangements, and irresistibly funky blues cuts. The album is a heartfelt collaboration that also features former band members Paul Jobson (MD/keys/vocals) and Jerome Marcus (percussion/backing vocals), whose contributions remain woven into the band’s story and sound.
Powerful, passionate, and packed with groove, SAM KELLY’S STATION HOUSE deliver music that feels as good as it sounds.
The new album also acknowledges the great works of TW Henderson, incorporating a selection of tracks from “The Wilderness Years” album. One of the most powerful tracks entitled “Black & White” has been captured on video.
SAM KELLY’S STATION HOUSE have formed the House Band for Paul Jones’ Charity Events at Cranleigh Arts Centre on two occasions now, performing in 2012 with Paul Jones, Imelda May, Robben Ford, Chris Barber, Andy Fairweather Low, Mike Sanchez and in 2015 with Paul Jones, Bernie Marsden, Laurence Jones, Reuben Richards, Noel McCalla, Katie Bradley & Dudley Ross, Kyla Brox & Danny Blomeley, Debbie Giles, Charlie Wood.
